Macrame Wedding Dress in an Italian Vineyard: Martina & Antonio

Martina chose ‘Brielle‘ – a macrame wedding dress from the VG Zolotas collection for her Italian vineyard celebration—handmade, Grecian, and effortlessly couture.

A Grecian-chic bridal vision, handmade for an open-air celebration

Under the golden light of the Italian countryside, Martina tied the knot in a handmade macrame wedding dress from the Zolotas Macrame Collection—a one-of-a-kind couture piece that married Greek heritage with modern ease. The ceremony unfolded at Podere Bianchi in Coriano, with hay-bale aisles, live music, and bold summer florals framing the view of vine-draped hills.

From our first video consultation, Martina was clear: she envisioned herself as a macrame bride. Then, she flew from Italy to our Athens showrooms, where the Zolotas craftsmanship—intricate knotwork, organic fibers, and airy movement—spoke directly to her heart.

The dress: Greek heritage, sculpted by hand

Martina’s gown is ethereal A-line couture crafted in organic cotton macrame and soft tulle. The high, Grecian-inspired neckline and open back create a statuesque line, while the artisanal knotwork traces and defines the waist with modern cut-outs. Delicate macrame fringes and hand-twisted cords move with every step, echoing the rhythm of the vineyard breeze.

The architectural macrame motifs reference classical Greek decorative arts—think meander-like interlacing, corded braids, and hand-knotted lattices—translated into a contemporary silhouette. The result is a gown that feels both ancient and future-forward: tactile, whimsical, and unmistakably couture.

Styling notes we loved in Martina’s wedding

  • Hair & florals: a sculptural half-up style tucked with bold blooms and produce-inspired accents—tomato red, artichoke green—mirroring the couple’s abundant Italian tablescapes.
  • Movement: the dress’s fringe and cords highlighted every body move and came alive during the evening celebration… every twirl amplified the gown’s texture.
  • Palette: sun-washed neutrals met vibrant citrus and pomegranate tones, letting the macrame craftsmanship remain the hero.

A ceremony among vines, a carnival of joy by night

The vows were exchanged overlooking rolling rows of vines, with guests gathered casually on straw bales—a scene of effortless elegance. As night fell, the party shifted beneath a striped canopy hung with market lights. The celebration felt like a traveling fête: music, layered cakes, and the bride’s couture macrame moving like silk tassels in the glow.

Why brides love macrame bridal couture

  • Artisanal identity: each knot is made by hand—no two gowns are identical.
  • Breathable luxury: organic cotton against the skin, tulle for weightless volume.
  • Architectural lines: Grecian detailing that frames the body with sculptural precision.
  • Versatility: equally striking in vineyards, coastal chapels, and contemporary city venues.
