Wedding in Alberobello, Italy

How I met my man…

We met at a traditional dance evening in our local village.

Then, he proposed…

He organized a treasure hunt for me, and at the end there was the ring with a little note asking if I wanted to marry him.

Our wedding destination… and why we fell in love with it!

We decided to get married at La Chiusa di Chietri in Alberobello. We fell in love with the idea of celebrating on a lawn, among olive trees and surrounded by trulli. We wanted it to feel like an informal village festival rather than a strict, formal event.

Our wedding concept, style & inspiration…

The whole concept was an outdoor party where everyone could feel free to do what they wanted, without being forced to stay in formal clothes. We wanted a relaxed, joyful atmosphere, just like a village fête.

The best – and the worst – wedding decisions we made…

I honestly feel that all the decisions I made were right and perfectly matched who we are. Everything reflected us completely.
(There wasn’t really a “worst” decision in my eyes.)

My hands-down favorite moment!

I will never forget a moment on the dance floor when all the guests were on their feet and my three-year-old son made everyone dance to a children’s song. Everyone joined in and had so much fun!

The soundtrack of our entrance and first dance!

Our first dance song was “Abbracciame” by Andrea Sannino.
For our entrance, we chose “Volare” by Domenico Modugno, in a folk version.

How I knew this was my wedding dress…

When I arrived at the atelier in Athens, I tried on all the dresses I liked and I truly loved them all, so it was hard to choose. In the end, I chose the one that flattered me the most and suited my body best.

My Zolotas experience, from the first visit to the big day…

I would describe it as a unique experience that very few other ateliers can offer. The owner hosted me personally and was incredibly kind and welcoming. Despite the many kilometres I had to travel, if I could go back in time, I would choose Zolotas all over again.

I would like to thank the following people, for turning my dream into a wedding reality…

Nasia & Ilias https://atelierzolotas.com/nasia-ilias/ Thu, 27 Nov 2025 13:30:49 +0000 https://atelierzolotas.gr/?p=21190 For this Wedding in Spetses Island, nothing was staged and nothing was “by the book”. Nasia and Ilias chose freedom over tradition: three carefree days with friends, their dog Bisky by their side, and a boho ZOLOTAS two-piece dress that was entirely “her”.

Wedding in Spetses Island

How I met my man…

We met eight years ago at work. We worked together and at first we would just chat and joke around. As time went by, we got to know each other better and better, until one day we went out for a ride on the motorbike. Even though it was summer, we got caught in an incredible downpour and ended up completely soaked. That was the beginning of all the beautiful things that followed.

Then, he proposed…

The truth is, there wasn’t a proposal in the classic way. At some point we just realised that we wanted the same things, to continue our life together. It was our own decision, without any drama or getting down on one knee.

Our wedding destination… and why we fell in love with it!

We decided to get married in Spetses because it’s where Nasia is from. We have so many beautiful memories there, many of our friends are there, and every time we visit the island we feel surrounded by a sense of freedom. So there wasn’t much to discuss – Spetses basically chose us.

Details that made your wedding feel truly “ours”…

First of all, we had Bisky, our dog, with us. She could never be missing from such an important moment. But the absolute highlight was Nasia’s brother, who showed up just before the bride arrived at the church holding a banner that said: “Ilias, think it over!”

The best – and the worst – wedding decisions we made…

Honestly, the best and worst decision was the same one: organizing everything ourselves.
On the one hand, it was the best choice because the wedding turned out exactly as we had imagined it, down to the last detail. On the other hand, it was also the hardest, because the whole process involved stress, running around and lots of decisions. But in the end, it was 100% worth it!

Wedding traditions and rituals we included…

To be honest, no, we didn’t follow any specific tradition. On the contrary, we decided to have the wedding exactly the way it felt right to us. We slept together the night before, we didn’t stick to formalities and “musts” because they don’t really represent us.

The only thing we kept was the custom where friends dress the bride and groom. We liked that – it added a personal touch.

The soundtrack of our entrance and first dance!

For our entrance, we chose Don’t Stop Me Now by Queen. It took us quite a while to find it because we wanted something relaxed, familiar to everyone and full of good energy. We decided not to have a first dance because we didn’t want anything staged.

My hands-down favorite moment!

They were three absolutely full-on days – friends, outings, swims, drinks and an energy that never stopped. Everything was so intense and beautiful.
But if we had to single out one moment, it would be the end of the wedding, after dinner, when we had a small party just with our friends, exactly as we had imagined it. We had an amazing time, with no phones or videos, just music and lots of dancing.

How I knew this was my wedding dress…

What I loved most about my wedding dress was that it was completely “me”. Boho, in line with my own style and taste – simple yet modern, with a hint of something vintage. The fact that it was made of two separate pieces gave me total freedom of movement and made me feel comfortable all day long.

My Zolotas experience, from the first visit to the big day…

My experience at the atelier was wonderful. The girls who helped me were fantastic – from the very beginning they understood exactly what I liked and what suited me best. The whole process went by without any stress or problems.

I would like to thank the following people, for turning my dream into a wedding reality…

Wedding in Praia dos Carneiros, Brazil

How I met my man…

We met through mutual friends at a gathering at a friend’s house.

Then, he proposed…

He proposed during a trip along the southwest coast of Australia, on a breathtaking beach we had always wanted to visit.

Our wedding destination… and why we fell in love with it!

We chose to get married in Praia dos Carneiros, Brazil. This place holds a special meaning for us. Since we live abroad, every time we visit Brazil, we gather our family and friends there. We love the beach, and this location has been part of our story for years. Paulo’s family is from Pernambuco, the state where the beach is located, which made it even more meaningful.

Our wedding concept, style & inspiration…

Our wedding had a boho and effortlessly elegant aesthetic. We wanted a light, natural, and relaxed atmosphere that reflected our love for the beach and the outdoors.

Oh, my wedding dress!

It was the very first dress I tried on, and the moment I put it on, I just knew it was the one. I tried others, but I couldn’t stop thinking about this dress from the first time I saw it. It felt unique, beautiful, and absolutely perfect for me.

The best – and the worst – wedding decisions we made…

The best decision was hiring a wedding planner! Since we live far from Brazil, planning everything remotely could have been very challenging. Our planner was an incredible help from start to finish, making the entire process smooth and stress-free.

As for the worst decision… honestly, nothing really stands out. Of course, there are always small things that don’t go exactly as planned, but in the end, everything came together beautifully, and we wouldn’t change a thing!

My hands-down favorite moment!

It’s impossible to choose just one! The vows, my little nephew walking down the aisle with the rings, my cousin singing my entrance song, and seeing so many of our loved ones gathered to celebrate with us. Since we live far from Brazil, having so many special people there, sharing this moment with us, was truly unforgettable.

The soundtrack of our entrance and first dance!

My entrance song was Beleza Rara, and our first dance was to O Xote das Meninas. Both are Brazilian songs—Beleza Rara is an axé song by my favorite singer, and O Xote das Meninas is a classic forró. These songs brought a touch of our culture and made the moments even more special.

How I knew this was my dress…

I knew it was the one from the very beginning—I had no doubts. It fit beautifully, felt incredible on my body, and I instantly connected with it. It was exactly what I had in mind for my special day.

My ZOLOTAS experience, from the first visit to the big day…

Sophie, the owner of Zolotas Australia, was absolutely wonderful throughout the entire process. She was incredibly kind, patient, and attentive, making me feel comfortable and confident from the moment I walked in. She truly understood my vision and guided me with such warmth and care, making the experience even more special.

Wedding in Bali

How I met my man

Born only a month apart, I believe we were destined to be together! We first met when we were babies… Our parents even arranged for a joint baptism and from then on things never looked back …we started dating when we were 16 and have known each other all of our lives!

Then, he proposed…

After being together for 10 years, Nick booked a getaway to Bali for the two of us. At the beautiful “La Lucciola” restaurant, Nick got down on one knee at sunset on the beach. We decided to keep it a secret from our family and friends for 3 weeks and then flew back to South Australia to tell them in person! They were overjoyed!

My kind of wedding!

We loved the idea of a destination wedding. Not just one day of celebrations, but the holiday of a lifetime for all of our family and friends. A trip to the tropics and warmth of Bali to escape the winter, sounded like a dream so we decided in July! We teamed up with our amazing wedding planners, Hitchd, and after lots of internet searches, we arranged a trip back to Bali to view some venues. We finally decided on Villa Shalimar in Canggu. With a backdrop of the beach on one side and rice paddies on the other, it was the perfect setting!

The best wedding decision I ever made… and also the worst one!

The best decision was hiring a wedding planner and an amazing one at that! When I first started planning my wedding, I had no idea what I wanted it to look like! Kira brought all these ideas to the table and then we had the fun part of choosing what we liked best! Her style is impeccable. It also made the wedding experience relaxed and not one bit stressful.

If I had to choose one favorite moment!

It’s hard to pick one moment, the whole day went so fast! Walking down the aisle and seeing Nick’s face light up would have to be a highlight… It was truly the happiest day of our lives.

Magic lies in the details

I would say I’m a minimalist, nothing too over the top. Our wedding was tropical, bright, fun and romantic, all in one! The scenery in Bali is so beautiful with all the greenery, so we didn’t want to overshadow that. Our wedding was relaxed, we wanted our guests to feel like they were on a holiday and experience a wedding like no other!

As for the flower selection, I left this all up to our wedding planner. We went with a bright bridal bouquet and softer blues for the bridesmaids to tie in with the color of their dresses.

I really loved the lighting the most – the canopy lighting was phenomenal in such a romantic setting. My family and guests enjoyed dining under fairy lights, with full-length floral table runners – it was really stunning.
The giant light up with our initials, “N&C”, paired perfectly with the floor pyrotechnics during our first dance!

If I could give some advice to a bride-to-be…

Relax – don’t sweat the small details. People remember your smile, not the color of the napkins!

Oh, my wedding dress!

I wasn’t keen on going to any bridal expos but I thought I should try and visit one to get a few ideas. It was where I met our wedding planner and also where I was first introduced to the bridal world of the Zolotas collection. I arranged an appointment with Sophie and from that moment on, the experience was wonderful. Sophie was so relaxed, (which helped me relax!), kind and helpful. I had in my mind that I wanted to wear something different and the Zolotas gowns are all that and more. “Hera” was the first dress I tried on… I loved the idea of a crop and skirt. The dress was so comfortable and I felt like a real-life Greek goddess when I first tried it on! Most of all, I loved the detail in the crop and the delicacies of the back.

I loved the Zolotas experience! It was amazing skyping with the designer, VG Zolotas and getting his thoughts on the dress, and any modifications I wanted. The customer service was wonderful. I even had the chance to look at photos of my dress being handmade during its making! It was so special, as was the handwritten note I received from the designer when the dress was delivered!

Sophie went above and beyond to make my experience of acquiring a wedding dress such a special one. Her personal approach and genuine happiness when she saw the photos of our special day have made me so happy and proud to have worn a Zolotas dress!

Wedding in Trizonia Island

How I met my man

I met Nikos in 2010 when I started working for the same company as him, where we both stayed for 5 years. We never collaborated directly though… we got closer when I discovered that Nikos came from Nafpaktos, where my parents happen to have a country house.

What is funny is that although we had been sunbathing on the same beaches all these years, we got to know each other in Athens, through a company! Our professional paths separated just after his wedding proposal, but we then shared a new path together!

Then, he proposed…

We had moved together in a new house for 2-3 months, which we had furnished from zero. We discovered that staying home and cooking, having our friends around, or just watching movies made us really happy.

It was our anniversary that night, and we had booked a table in a nice restaurant on a terrace, with a view of the Acropolis, but we didn’t count on the weather! It turned out to be a really rainy night, so we decided to stay in. So we cooked and lay on the couch watching a series. When the episode was over, I asked “OK now what?”. Nikos simply said “I have an idea. But you might say I’m running too fast”. I looked at him in wonder, when he took out from the pocket of his tracksuit (that was the dress code of the night after all!) a wedding ring!

And just like that, he simply asked me to be his wife. When I said yes (which I did!) he just pushed a button, and a photo video of our days together started playing, to the soundtrack of “You are the best thing” by Ray LaMontagne. It might sound simple and informal but whenever it comes to my mind, I instantly feel moved!

We got married on August 22 in Saint Georgios, at Trizonia island (Fokida).

The wedding concept was cottage/vintage in the colors of… well, everything! The basic elements were burlap, lace, wood, twine, zinc, in a true cottage & raw spirit!

The concept already started unfolding from the wedding invitations! It was a representation of the poster of the movie “An education“… Instead, we rephrased the title to “An Invitation”, in a true setting of a movie poster (by the kind attribute of Nik’s Hope productions)! We were photographed lying on hay (!) and the wedding invitations were enclosed in a simple brown envelope, tied up with twine and sealed with wax.

Now for the flowers… I wanted to choose flowers of the field, but they were out of season! So we opted for vivid colored flowers like amaranth, roses & other more peculiar ones (which I honestly don’t remember how they are called)! Chamomile, laurel, wheat, and lavender come to my mind!

If I had to choose one favorite moment!

Our first dance. It was very personal, so moving, even though there were all our friends and relatives around.

The best wedding decision I ever made… and also the worst one!

The best had to be to actively get involved in our wedding preparations and come up with unique and beautiful details that would express our aesthetics, no matter how unconventional they might have been! Everything was handcrafted, from the wedding invitations to the wedding favors… which meant a lot of weekends staying in,  looking for handicraft ideas! But in the end, it was really worth it!!

…and also the worst one!

The worst one was not using drones during the photo shoot and the cinematography of our wedding. The idea didn’t even cross our minds, but now we realize it would have given some magical shots! The view from above, of the transition from the island to the garden party, would have been amazing!

Magic lies in the details

As for my favorite wedding details… The reception was held in the garden of our house, at Skaloma (a little village near Nafpaktos, the one I was telling you about). Rows of lamps were hanging above the garden. The buffet tables were made from cable drum rollers in different sizes! The food was unconventional and served in clay and wooden dinnerware, provided by my mother. There was also homemade lemonade and a popcorn corner set on old barrels.

We had an open bar, placed on old barrels as well, which served custom-made cocktails. The sweets and the wedding cake (which was a naked red velvet) were set on our water well, which was decorated with lights all around the rim (a stunning sight).

Hanging from the trees there were ribbons and candle jars. On the tables, there were bronze zinc jugs (the classic ones found in old-fashioned wine taverns) as well as cages filled with colorful flowers.

The wedding favors were small buckets or twine containers, filled with wedding candy in the shape pebbles. Our wine had custom made, handmade labels with our pre-wedding photos,  entitled “Nik’s Hope” and also and the saying “Cheers to love, for it deserves the first toast”.

The newly-weds table was in the shape of the word “LOVE”! I don’t know where to begin…!

If I could give some advice to a bride-to-be…

I think the most important thing in a wedding is to go ahead because you really want it, after having an emotionally rich relationship with your other half.

We had this wedding primarily for ourselves, and secondly for our guest’s sake. It’s a beautiful party during one’s lifetime, so you’d better live it to the fullest!

Oh, my wedding dress!

I had never thought of how I wanted my wedding dress to look like. It had never crossed my mind nor had I contemplated the matter. I tried on several dresses, but when I put on that particular one… it just clicked! It felt like myself and like no other. I instantly fell in love with it, even though it wasn’t even completed when Sara, (who was really amazing) presented it to me. With the help of the designer, VG Zolotas, we made it take its final shape and form!

He designed it on paper from the very beginning for me, we added some elements, excluded some others, until something that was beyond my imagination, became reality! Especially on the wedding day, it was magical. , Beautiful, unique, distinctive, comfortable, feminine as it should, in total harmony with the wedding concept, the venue, and the groom!! DIVINE! I can’t fully express how much I love it…!

The Atelier Zolotas experience was ideal. My wedding consultant didn’t inflate my ego. She was patient, ready to provide a solution and she caught my style immediately… and mainly presented me a diamond of a wedding dress, which ended up becoming the one for me.  It was fantastic!

Wedding in Paphos, Cyprus

How I met my man…

Everything happened because of our best friends! Try to make sense of this… My best friend, who rightfully became our best woman, knew Aristos’s best friend. And somehow they introduced us to each other, -just eleven years ago!

Then, he proposed…

Interestingly enough, he chose April the 1st -which made everyone think it was an April Fool’s day joke, and did not believe me at first when I told them! We were in Rome on a vacation that we had planned… I would have never guessed that there was a diamond ring hidden in his suitcase!

The magic lies in the details!

Our wedding was held outdoors, in a picturesque village in the mountains, called Lofos! It is my father’s village, also connected with my last name… Our wedding theme was Garden – Chic, with bold colors and golden details! They were in perfect contrast with the earthy cobblestones and the mountain greenery. The ceremony took place in the church of Panagia Chrysolofitissa, in the summertime (on the 24th of June)!

As for the palette of the flowers, we chose a combination of bold colors with pastel shades – blue, purple, pink, peach and orange. Our flower arrangement consisted of chamomile, eryngium (you have to Google this!), peonies, roses, veronicas, lisianthus, baby blue eucalyptus, foliage and many more!

If I could give some advice to a bride-to-be…

Enjoy every moment of your day – and stay cool at all times!

The best wedding decision I ever made…

Adding more lights, actually! It created a beautiful atmosphere both in the reception venue and also on the dancefloor!

If I had to choose one favorite moment!

My best moment was during our first dance, where we performed our well-rehearsed choreography!

Oh, my wedding dress!

After a lot of market research in Cyprus, I concluded that nothing expressed me 100%! But when I saw the Atelier Zolotas collection, I didn’t hesitate to combine a holiday in Athens with a rehearsal there. Wearing it for the first time was the perfect experience. The impeccable design of the Ijunia dress, through its simplicity, hides a detailed impressive embroidery in crochet, as well as a traditional and elegant character!

As for the Atelier Zolotas experience, the people were wonderful and made me feel at home from the first moment I entered the Atelier. The creation and completion didn’t take longer than two fittings and everything was right on time, which was very important for me! Exceptional quality in a comfortable gown that felt amazing even during the dancing part!

Wedding in Brookleigh Swan Mansion

How I met my man…

We met through mutual friends and fell in love. We had a two-year long-distance relationship, because he lived in New York, and I lived in Perth, Western Australia.

Then, he proposed…

He flew me over to New York and took me around the city… He popped the question at the Βow Βridge, in Central Park! He also slipped on ice when he got on one knee, hee hee!

The magic lies in the details!

We had a chilled, bohemian wedding!  The boys in navy, tans, crisp white and deep wine! Me and my girls in ivory, deep wine, soft creamy pinks, and lace.

My dress was definitely the detail that stood out! It was so amazing and tied in amazingly with all the handmade, macramé pieces.

The best wedding decision I ever made… and also the worst one!

The best decision we made for our wedding was for it to be in a chilled and relaxed cocktail style.
Everyone loved being able to be free to talk to everyone and explore the stunning grounds of the Brookleigh estate.

I honestly couldn’t think of one bad thing, everything happened so naturally…

If I had to choose one favorite moment!

The moment I’ll never forget would have to be a tossup of my dad’s heartfelt speech to me, and Edward’s dance with his mother to “Vienna” by Billy Joel.

To the rhythm of our first dance!

We danced to dancing in the Moonlight by L’Aupaire.  And the song that I walked down the aisle to, was a kingdom melody, called Song 132 – Now we are one.

Oh, my wedding dress!

There are so many reasons why I chose my dress!!
Once Sophie showed it to me, I was instantly in love! The vintage color, the lacy details, the buttons in the front. Oh and that bussell! How unique…

You could see how much hard work went into that wedding dress. It was the most stunning of all! Sophie and I just clicked. She made me feel so relaxed and comfortable, and like a bride!

It was also a privilege to FaceTime the designer, VG Zolotas, over in Greece!

Maria & Nikos https://atelierzolotas.com/maria-nikos/ https://atelierzolotas.com/maria-nikos/#respond Sun, 26 Nov 2023 20:37:59 +0000 https://zolotas.give-it.gr/maria-nikos/ You can almost hear the sound of the Cretan music playing, as we are sharing the story of Maria's island wedding with you! She is wearing an ethereal Crop Top handmade gown, while her guests are wearing traditional "sarikis" around their neck. Needless to say, it turned into a Greek "glenti" until the early morning hours!

Wedding in Crete Island

How I met my man…

9 years ago, mutual friends made our first acquaintance! After that, love came naturally…

Then, he proposed…

It took place at the exact location of our first kiss, the Marina of Zeas. Right in the heart of summer, on July 29th, we got married at my village in Crete, Sivas, located in the old town of Faistos, at the chapel of Saint Ioannis Xenos.

The magic lies in the details!

Our wedding had a characteristic air of tradition! Our close friends from both Athens and Crete helped us get ready, I arrived at the church accompanied by an orchestra playing Cretan music, and our closest friends wore Cretan sarikis around their neck! Before the big day, we had not one, but two pre-wedding parties! One from the side of the groom, and the other from my side, welcoming our guests who had arrived from Athens, Crete (where my family comes from) and Agrinion (where the groom’s origins are).

As for the wedding and reception decoration, we chose earthy tones. My bridal bouquet consisted of chamomile, baby’s-breath, white baby roses, and wheat. For the floral decoration of the church, we added greenery with baby’s breath and wild lavender in specific places!

Talking about the fine details, during the ceremony, we stood under a beautiful flower frame! In the reception area, tree trunks were the centerpieces, on which we placed candlesticks of glass, written wishes, and jars with wheat! Finally, on the welcome -monastic- table there were traditional local drinks and sweets, from both Crete and Agrinion, wedding candles decorated with driftwood -another aquatic touch!

The best wedding decision I ever made… and also the worst one!

Holding the wedding at a Cretan seaside village, made our friends book their vacation a week before the big day, which allowed us to spend some holiday time together! Most importantly, they experienced an authentic Cretan wedding, some of whom for the first time! I cannot think of any bad decisions, other than not having a Day After photo shoot.

If I had to choose one favorite moment!

Each and every one had something special! The moment all my friends helped me get dressed in my house, making my way to the church accompanied by traditional instruments, the ceremony in the chapel filled with our relatives and friends, our entrance to the reception venue to the sounds of a Cretan Rizitiko song, our friends applauding and lighting fireworks, the “glenti” with Cretan music, followed by a DJ who played music until 8.30 in the morning when we rushed to the sea! Everything had its own magic!

To the rythm of our first dance!

Nikos and I decided not to have the first dance alone, so we got everyone on the dancefloor during a traditional Cretan song, having our all our friends and relatives joining us!

If I could give some advice to a bride-to-be…

Enjoy it! Additionally, make all the choices that make you feel comfortable, from the choice of your wedding dress to the overall wedding style!

Oh, my wedding dress!

It was just my style, and it made me feel amazing wearing it. It was a Crop Top dress with a breezy skirt, which allowed me to really enjoy dancing in it and also matched my wedding aesthetics. As the wedding was held at a seaside Cretan village, something excessive would have been over the top!

My experience with Atelier Zolotas was the best possible. The staff and especially my beloved Sara, who helped me pick my dress, were all very kind and helpful. Although I had visited other bridal boutiques before the atelier, no place made me feel more at home than the Zolotas bridal house.

I would like to thank the following people, for turning my dream into a wedding reality…

Ever thought of a Polaroid camera as a wish book? Nice one, right?

Wedding in Aegina Island

How I met my man…

We met in Thessaloniki, where we both come from. It was the party of my best friend that night, which was held at the Shark bar restaurant! It was 10 years ago.

Then, he proposed…

He popped the question one morning, on the island of Aegina (the date was the 30th of July 2015)! We were in bed, and I had just woken up… it was simple and perfect! So we symbolically chose to have our -summer!- wedding there, on the first of July!

Magic lies in the details!

Everything was minimal. We used natural kraft colors and burlap. Every single detail was made by hand, by my dear friend Athina Chrissomali.

And when it came to flowers, our choice was olive leaves, baby’s breath, and roses in ivory. Our wishbook was basically a Polaroid camera!

The best wedding decision I ever made… and also the worst one!If I had to choose one favorite moment!

The best: my faith in the hands of my friend Athina!

The worst: Not a single one! Everything came out better than expected.

If I had to choose one favorite moment!

That would be easy… When we entered the reception to the tune of “City of Stars” from the movie La la land! It was combined with the synchonized movement of our guests’ glow sticks! It was very moving for both ourselves and our guests!

If I could give some advice to a bride-to-be…

Have all the people you love present on your big day! I had my family, and close friends with me all along and nothing compares with that!

Oh, my wedding dress!

My dress was WONDERFUL. I couldn’t have imagined a more fitting gown for me. Ever since I saw it on an Atelier Zolotas photo-shoot, I straight away booked an appointment to try it on. It was just what I had dreamt of!

I am extremely pleased with Atelier Zolotas. My wedding consultant, Melina, helped me immensely with every detail of my dress and every alteration I had in mind. They gave me fresh ideas and useful tips. Our communication was direct, extremely friendly and made me feel at home. I thank you all so much!

Wedding in Fiji Islands

How I met my man…

We met in high school, and from then on we knew we would be together forever.

Then, he proposed…

He surprised me with a trip to the Fiji Islands for my birthday and also popped the question. It was such a beautiful place that we thought it would be perfect to come back with close family and friends and get married there.

We got married on our 8th anniversary, in the Fiji Islands!

If I had to choose one favorite moment!

From start to finish, the whole day and night were unforgettable.

We had a personal wedding coordinator who took care of everything, so neither the bride nor groom had to do a thing. The day ran so smoothly and was everything we had dreamed of—and more!

I definitely recommend a destination wedding!

Oh, my wedding dress!

If it wasn’t for Sophie, the owner of Zolotas Australia, pulling the dress off the rack and getting me to try it on, I don’t know if I would have even gotten married in Fiji!

The moment the dress was zipped up and I stepped out of the fitting room, I was IN LOVE! I knew this dress was made for Fiji, and I went to the travel agent the week after and booked our Fiji wedding.

A couple of months later, we went to try the dress on again. I still hadn’t changed my mind or had any doubt that there was anything better. I was still so in love with it and hadn’t seen anything like it since first trying it on. Sophie was so wonderful, and the afternoon was just beautiful.

Sophie also recommended a fantastic alterations lady who knew exactly how to work with the delicate fabric, so I was very happy to be in such good hands.
Overall, the Zolotas experience was amazing. My granny has made every one of my special dresses over the years, and since she couldn’t be here with me for this one, I know she would have been so happy that I chose a one-of-a-kind handmade dress—just like she would have made for me.
